Dr. Mark Hein, who founded Van Loon Animal Hospital in 1996, is proud to be one of the veterinarians in the state of Wisconsin certified to perform and teach “PENN-HIP” hip dysphasia detection methods. Dr. Hein was the first veterinarian to offer Laser Surgery to pet owners in the LaCrosse area as an alternative to more painful conventional surgeries. Dr. Hein also founded the Onalaska based PETCO walk-in clinics in 1995 where clients may see a veterinarian during the evening hours without an appointment for reduced fees.
